With Liverpool making the next round of the Europa cup, will the Blues game against them be postponed?

Anyone know?

Cheers,

Richard.

I'd have thought it would have to be moved to the Sunday, as the first legs are to be played on April 1st, which is the Thursday.

Yes it will be moved to Sunday, Easter Sunday.

This is why we delayed getting tickets - I was getting 7 but now we ain't going. It was going to be a jolly boys outing with 3 Liverpool fans - all of us in the OG (for their safety).

Oh well, there's always next season.

Exactly why I don't want Europa League football.

A dozen Saturday games rearranged to Sunday and silly 5.45/6.00 Thursday teatime games. Mickey Mouse or what?

I'm surprised the Club are advertising Tickets for this game yet to be honest, because if it does get moved then there may be a lot of people who have purchased Tickets unable to go if it's on the Sunday.

if purchased before the change of date announcement then you can get a refund.

so you dont want the team to be successful because it might inconvenience you slightly?

Not slightly mate.

Sundays I reserve as a family day when possible. My word, Mrs Lowdham is marvellous about me flying away for cricket, having Saturday overnighters for the odd Blues away games and saturday overnighters for the odd rugby internationals.

As I mentioned to you only yesterday - your average fan nowadays does not relegiously go to every home game come-what-may.

There are more and more fans of all clubs who live further afield - we have or have had career paths. We don't need Sunday games. What about students who come by train? hardly a service on Sundays.

I suggest you look outside of your daily rut.

It will be a 3pm ko on the sunday. Just like Fulhams game will be.

And i think sunday games are something we are going to have to get used to if we are going to move on as a club.

Hopefuly not just because of Europa League.....but higher status int he league will see us play more live sky games, thus enhancing our profile nationwide as well as globally.

We play Arsenal 4 days before they play Barcelona, and we play Liverpool between their Away and Home matches against Benfica.

We may get lucky. :D

If Liverpool is moved to a Sunday, that will be another match I'll miss.
I gave up my ST for the Wigan and Everton matches as well !! :banghead:

There is nothing worse than waiting in a railway station in the rain for an interconnecting coach to take you 20 miles to get onto another freezing dirty 2 carriage deisel that may only take you another 20 miles for another coach.

Rail travel on Sunday - off the main lines - is purgatory.

No Blues permission needed. I believe it is a Premier League directive.

Lowdham, I live in North Staffs but work in Brum in the week. I'm lucky that my parents are in Solihull so i can stop over there in readiness for Monday morning. But its not ideal. I totally agree with the comments about Sunday rail travel - its just so infrequent as opposed to a Saturday.

Still, its the way football has gone i'm afraid. I remember when Dad took me in the late-70's....parking the car up, listening to Larry Canning on Radio Birmingham (now WM!) walking to the ground, if were fortunate to be on the box the BBC or ATV vans would be in the Tilton car park - watch the game, which finished at 4.40pm (only 10 min half time break). No 5 mins of stoppage time back then! Sorry, just reminising here........ ..zz..

Intresting that in France they just postpone the games for there european teams and i saw inter milan played on the friday before the chelsea game on the tuesday.

Not really a blues subject YET but i think more should be done to accomodate and help our teams in europe as they are flying the flag for our country ensuring we have the most allocated qualification spaces.

In the 70s we came in by train from the south and you could see blues way out on the horizon.

If we saw the huge ariel we knew we were on either MotD that night or Star Scoccer on Sunday. One young lad we used to take regularly could even tell which ariel it was, BBC or ATV. :D
